School for Parents

School for Parents meet once a week on Thursday morning (two hours) in term time at the school. It is designed to support families with children with motor and associated learning difficulties.

School for Parents provides a safe environment where parents, carers and children can explore and learn solutions for every day learning. A carefully planned programme of activities to suit your child that includes changes of position, movement, body awareness, attention, communication and hand use through play, song and fun.

We offer a well planned pre-school session to give the appropriate challenges and success to each child to support learning. Achievable aims are identified in each of the seven Early Years Foundation stage:

  • Physical Development
  • Understanding the world
  • Expressive arts and design
  • Communication and Language
  • Literacy
  • Personal, Social and Emotional Development
  • Mathematics

Parents and carers share information and support each other and this support continues outside School for Parents. If you would like any more information about School for Parents, please contact Hayley Davies, Team Leader on 01376 503505.
