Head Teacher's Welcome
A very warm welcome to Southview School. I hope you find the information here informative, helpful and interesting. Please feel free to contact me or anyone at the school if you need any further information or have any questions.
Southview School is a 3-19 day special school for Physically and Neurologically Impaired (PNI) children and students situated in a modern, inclusive and accessible building in Witham. We are part of the Hope Learning Community, and we work alongside two other schools, Market Field School and Chatten Free School. There is also a satellite Market Field College based in Clacton, and we currently have our own college provision being built adjacent to the school which is due to open in September 2022. All three schools work collaboratively together and there is a strong culture of mutual support and sharing of expertise.
We are unique in Essex Local Authority as the only special school exclusively for PNI children and students. Southview School is staffed by a highly skilled and dedicated team of teachers, support staff and therapists who work holistically and collaboratively to provide a high quality learning experience for all our children and students. By working with the school team, external agencies and of course parents and carers, we really do put our children and student’s holistic educational needs first!
We are experienced in using a wide variety of equipment and technologies to support our children and students, enhance their experiences and keep them safe. Southview is a school that values standards and achievement and we are extremely proud of all that goes on here.
Children and students well-being, development and educational progress is monitored through reviews of their needs, and our bespoke assessment systems ensure we deliver a tailored individual learning experience for all our children and students. Where we need to extend our experiences for children and students who are able to, we work closely with many mainstream schools to provide a local educational provision for our children and students.
I look forward to seeing you in school!
At Southview School we strive to create a community of students with strong self esteem and high expectations for personal success.
We believe that by working in partnership with parents, the community and other agencies our students will reach their full potential at school and in society.
Be your very best
