In Jupiter Class, the students have had the opportunity to experience a traditional English cream tea. They also made ham, cheese and cucumber sandwiches, all washed down with a nice cup of tea.
This term in Venus Class during our PSHE lessons we will be looking at “keeping safe” and the changes that happen in our lives such as a new home, new school, new friends, loosing someone, changes in our family and bodies.
Helen from the NSPCC came in to talk to us about “Being Safe” and who we can talk to if we have concerns over our own of someone else’s safety. We have all learnt the ChildLine phone number – 0800 1111.
This term we are also working hard on finishing our ASDAN work and we hope to get our certificates by the end of the academic year.
On Friday 15th March, it was very exciting for Sunshine, Stars and Rainbows as we had a visit from a Fire Safety Officer and a Fire Engine. The children had a chance to try on and look at some of the safety equipment and uniform that Fire Fighters wear. They also got to look at the special thermo imaging camera which shows where areas of heat are. The Fire Engine then had to go off on a callout so the children got to hear the siren and flashy lights, lots of excitement all round. A very big thank you to the Essex Fire Team.
We had a fantastic time at the Panathlon competition on Thursday. We competed against Columbus and Shorefields School in Boccia, Table Cricket, Precision Beanbag, Kurling, Slaloms and Relay races. Everyone gave their best and we saw some amazing skills and speed on the race track!
Well done to the team on gaining first place! We will be looking forward to the finals in July! – Lots of hard training to be done!
