Southview Sports Week 2019

Week commencing 1st July was a very busy week for all at Southview. We started off the week with the first of our two Sports Days.

The children loved taking part in different activities and showed that they all have a competitive side! They all took part in four different activities: parachute, bubble bursting, keepy up and sensory journey and lots of points were received.

All children cheered on heir team members even on the days they weren’t competing so the school has been filled with team spirit all week!

Thursday saw the second Sports Day. In the morning the children took part in four activities: shuttle run, speed bounce, target throw and triple jump whilst in the afternoon they took part in races for their team.

We all had some laughs when the very competitive staff and adults took to the race track – they had their game faces on! Some even took their shoes off!

It really was a great day with smiles all round all day, the children were happy and engaged the whole time and proudly showed off their competitive spirit whilst doing their best for their team.

The whole week of sports activities ended in a special assembly on Friday afternoon with the children receiving their medals.

All the points for Monday and Thursday were added together, with the results as follows:

Purple Team – 8,743 points

Green Team – 9,442 points

Blue Team – 12,311 points

Red Team – 12,875 points

The team captain for the Red Team proudly collected the trophy.

We hope you enjoyed our Sports week as much as we all did!
We would like to thank everyone that took part, with a special thank you to our lovely PE teacher Jannine for all her hard work. Also, a huge thank you to Anca who worked very hard behind the scenes to make sure Sports Day was a huge success!

The feed back we have had so far from the parents, staff and students alike has been positive and that the two days proved to be very successful, so thank you.

All that is left to say is WELL DONE RED TEAM!
